Mindfully Serene Psychotherapy was founded by Ivone Gutierrez, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and EMDR Certified Therapist. Ivone is a bilingual and bicultural Latinx therapist with over 13 years of experience supporting BIPOC clients overcome stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, and childhood trauma.
Services are rooted in anti-racist and anti-oppressive frameworks and specialized to serve the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community in Illinois. Mindfully Serene Psychotherapy LLC is an LGBTQIA+ affirming practice.

Hello and welcome! I want you to know that life can get better. You do not need to continue suffering in silence. Strong and resilient people also need support.
Maybe you’ve been struggling with insecurities and self-doubt. Despite your achievements and strengths, you can’t tune out the voice that says you're doing it all wrong and you’re not good enough. Perhaps, it’s getting harder to manage the cumulative stress from work, family, and relationships.
You’re struggling with setting boundaries and when you finally find the words to express what you need, you’re overcome with guilt and anxiety. Everyone believes you have it all together, but you often put yourself last and are your own worst critic.
One thing is for sure, you're exhausted and are ready to make changes.
You don’t have to do this on your own. With therapy, my clients have become healthier versions of themselves, healed from their past, developed healthier relationships, and made changes to live more joyfully.
I know that starting therapy can be anxiety provoking, but it could also be one of the best things you’ve ever done for yourself. I strive to create a safe and therapeutic space for all. Know that you can work at your own pace. You get to decide what you want to talk about AND also what you’re not ready to talk about.
