Founded by Ivone Gutierrez, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and EMDR Certified Therapist, Mindfully Serene Psychotherapy offers virtual counseling. Ivone is a bilingual and bicultural Latinx therapist with over 12 years of experience supporting BIPOC clients overcome low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, and childhood trauma. Services are rooted in anti-racist and anti-oppressive frameworks to best serve the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community in Illinois.

Hello and welcome! I want you to know that life can feel better. You don't need to continue suffering in silence. Strong and resilient people also need support. (No one expects you to do your own surgery. So why is it that with mental health, we expect to just get better on our own?)

Maybe you are struggling with insecurities and self-doubt. Despite your achievements and strengths, you can’t tune out the voice that says you're doing it all wrong and you’re not good enough. Perhaps, it’s getting harder to manage the cumulative stress from work, family, and relationships.

You’re struggling with setting boundaries and when you finally find the words to express what you need, you’re overcome with guilt and anxiety. Everyone believes you have it all together, but you put yourself last and are often your own worst critic.

One thing is for sure, you're exhausted and are ready to make changes.

You know you can’t do this on your own and you shouldn’t have to! I can help you get to a healthier, more peaceful state. With therapy, my clients have healed from their past, developed healthier relationships, felt more empowered to set boundaries, and made changes to live more joyfully.

I know that starting therapy can be anxiety provoking, but it could also be one of the best things you’ve ever done for yourself. I strive to create a safe and therapeutic space so that you can work at your own pace. You get to decide what you want to talk about AND also what you’re not ready to talk about.
